Germany
By Tom is cool | March 15, 2008
I just got back from Germany. I went for 10 days to stay with a german family. This was the second time i had been and it was better than the first. Each day we went on trip to towns (mainly to be bored by 3 hour long tours), and bowling, and even a butterfly garden (that was the best one). We dont go on trips on to days. On these days we went to the cinema, and to a football *soccer* match which was wicked.
I thought this was something decent to write about so i did xxx

Chick Pics for Mac (and everyone else!)
By jodie | March 9, 2008
The kids are spending the weekend with their Dad (as they do every other weekend). This evening, when I talked with them, Mackenzie (naturally) asked about the chicks. I was telling her how big they are getting, even though it’s only been two days since she’s seen them. They really do seem to grow right before our eyes! Most of them are really starting to become feathered and look like tweens of the chicken world!
Since her Dad has finally leapt into the 21st century (hi, Denny
), she can now hop on the world wide web at his house. So, tonight, she says, “Mom, will you post some pictures of the chicks on nitfig so we can see them, please?” Little buggar. Not that we’ve kept nitfig from her, but it just goes to show you that “little pictures have big ears”! (and I really doubt she actually said “please”, as I’ve quoted her, but I digress…)
So, here they are… just for you Miss Mac!

Look where Sheffield was hanging out…

Peeps
By jodie | February 28, 2008
Lots and lots of peeps around here!!! Seventeen eggs became fifteen eggs a few days ago (we lost two more… or they never developed… or ???). In the last twenty-four hours, those fifteen eggs have turned into nine stunningly beautiful chicks, with six eggs still incubating.
Hopefully, we’ll have six more chicks in the next day or so. We’ll continue updating. Until then…
Update: Of 18 eggs set, 1 was clear and 2 died in first couple of days. Of the remaining 15, 10 hatched, three were dead in shell, and 2 had died along the way. The proportion that hatched was reasonable, given the 2 that died along the way. We won’t know for a few weeks how many of each sex we have.

And far be it for The Diva to miss a photo op…

*UPDATE* Steve was the next one to appear, at around 5:00. Mac followed shortly thereafter… (more to come)
